1. Survey existing businesses and residents to determine the wants and needs of the parish.

Survey existing Grant Parish businesses to determine how we can help them expand their current business which would create additional jobs and tax revenues. Start a “Shop Grant Parish” program to encourage residents to support their local businesses.

Survey existing residents to determine what amenities would make their lives better in Grant Parish. (local doctors, dry cleaners, video store, grocery store, restaurants, etc.) Post survey and results on GPEDA web page.

2. Develop a Marketing Portfolio of major industrial properties (public & private) in Grant Parish and compile pertinent information that can be used to attract new businesses.

Pollock Airport area property – 800 acres
Red River Property – Colfax (Potential Port Site)
Vanguard Site – 320 acres with major infrastructure
Catalog empty buildings & warehouses available
Update Grant Parish Profile booklet
Compile a list of State and Local incentives available to new or expanding businesses

Post this information on the GPEDA web page with links to other economic development sites and begin sending this information out to National and International Site Selection Consultants.

3. Target Support businesses and contractors of recently announced business expansions and new companies locating in the area.

4. Target timber related or value added timber businesses such as sawmills, wood preserving, furniture manufacturing, etc. to take advantage of our vast timber resources.

5. Evaluate and consider creating a small business incubator for start-up companies in Grant Parish.

In addition we will support and encourage infrastructure improvements needed to attract new businesses and/or homeowners
such as sewer, water and road improvement projects.
